Oliver Spencer pens a sartorial love letter to London at his AW18 show
Oliver Spencer is proud of his roots and it’s certainly no coincidence that London is a running theme throughout his collections.
So for his AW18 line, the designer decided to pen a fully-fledged love letter to the fashion capital.
Entitled ‘Love is the Drug’, Spencer paid sartorial tribute to the city’s diverse culture and infectious energy at his LFWM show.
Peppered with baker boy hats and two-piece corduroy suits, models strolled the catwalk as though popping down to the local pub with mates.
Slicked back hair and sock-less brogues proved the only accessories required – an ode to his love of aimlessly ‘wandering Thames-side’.
While a handful of models dressed up in shearling-emblazoned jackets teamed with the brand’s signature Judo Pant.
Oh, and there were thick turtlenecks aplenty in urban hues reminiscent of London’s LEGO-like skyline.
And with a famous following, Spencer’s collections never fail to draw a star-studded crowd with names including Oliver Proudlock and Erin O’Connor sitting FROW this season.
While models Daisy Lowe and Jack Guinness on the other hand, were left in charge of debuting the label’s latest designs on the runway.
In wake of the see-now-buy-now era, it’s also interesting to note that Oliver Spencer’s designs are available to shop through social network app Vero. And it’s never been easier to shop the runway, as the brand’s followers can shop their favourite pieces through the likes of Isaac Carew, Jack Guiness and Daisy Lowe’s profiles.
And we’re pretty sure the FROW regulars will be snapping up a piece or two if the resounding applauds are anything to go by…
