Cameron Diaz says having an opposite sleep schedule to husband helps parent her baby
Cameron Diaz has revealed her and husband, Benji Madden’s opposite sleep schedules has helped with parenting their baby while social distancing during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The couple became first-time parents in December following the arrival of their baby daughter, Raddix and have slotted into parenthood with ease, particularly when it comes to the night feeds.
Diaz, 47, was opening up about new motherhood during an Instagram Live with makeup artist Gucci Westman on Wednesday, revealing that her and Benji's sleep schedules are polar opposite, meaning they don’t have the usual tussle about who should get up in the night to feed the baby.
“Benji wants to go to bed late, and I like to go to bed early, that works so well for us as parents,” she said, as reported by People.
“I can go to bed a few hours early and he does those later feeds with her.”

The star went on to add: “I can go to bed a few hours early and he does those later feeds with her. I can wake up early and be with her in the morning and [Benji] can sleep.”
On the differences in their sleep schedules Cameron said: “We all need somebody, somebody who doesn’t do what we do.”
Diaz also shared how she is spending her days as a new mum, now that the family is on lockdown and she’s finding the time busier than ever.
“I literally get up and don't stop moving until I lay my head down on the pillow. I’m so used to going, going, going. My engine starts and I don't idle through the day.”

Earlier in the month, Diaz spoke about new motherhood in an Instagram Live with her friend Katherine Power.
The actress joked that looking after their newborn had provided perfect preparation for being in lockdown: “I have basically been in quarantine already as I have a three-month-old,” she said before going on to praise her other half’s parenting skills. “After we've done bathtime with the baby, Benji puts the baby to bed, I am so lucky he is such an amazing father. He is my baby's daddy.”

“It’s the best, best, best part of my life. I’m so grateful and so happy and it's the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to do it with Benj and we're having the best time. I’m thrilled. I can’t believe it.”
“I’m either cooking, cleaning or taking care of my baby - and usually all at the same time.”
