Kate Hudson poses for multi-generational magazine cover alongside daughter Rani and mum Goldie Hawn
Kate Hudson has appeared on a historic magazine cover alongside her mum, Goldie Hawn, 74, and baby daughter Rani Rose.
In a magazine first, the three generations of the family appeared in People’s Most Beautiful Issue, which is now in its 30th year.
The cover, which was shot back in February before coronavirus pandemic restrictions, features the trio dressed in white and looking relaxed and happy.
In the accompanying interview, the mother and daughter duo spoke candidly about parenthood, their family dynamics and their close bond.
“My mom [sic] gave me the floor to be able to feel confident enough to go out and feel like my life could be my own,” the 41-year-old actress told the publication.
“Mom [sic] was my greatest cheerleader and it just made me think about Rani going, ‘I hope I give her that kind of confidence,’ you know?”

Hudson went on to explain that she has closely followed some of the advice her mum has shared over the years.
“Mom [sic] always said to me, ‘Don’t you ever let a man dim your light,'” she recalled. “So I’ve never defined myself through the way a man sees me, but I can define myself in the unit that we can create together. That is what Mom [sic] gave to me.”
The duo also opened up about parenting and how there are similarities in their styles.
“The biggest similarity between our parenting styles is the kindness,” Kate explains. “Looking people in the eye, that's where we're strict. The other stuff, I just want my kids to be happy and be good people in the world.”
“Every day I feel like my mom [sic],” she adds.
Sharing the cover to Instagram, Hudson explained that the current coronavirus situation has made her reflect on the importance of family relationships even more than usual, as the family quarantines apart.
“Some can quarantine with each other, and some, sadly, cannot. The strength of family is everything!” she wrote.
“Whether you are born into that family or collect that family along the way, this connection we thrive on and must protect.”

Goldie Hawn is quarantining with her partner of 37 years, and Hudson’s father, Kurt Russell, 69 and explains that she is getting through with the help of meditation as well as focusing “nurturing, loving, kindness from the heart and staying safe inside.”
Hudson, 41, shares 18-month daughter Rani with musician Danny Fujikawa, 33, but also has sons Ryder, 16, and Bing, eight, from previous relationships.
And also has brothers, Oliver Hudson, 43, and Wyatt Russell, 33, and stepbrother, Boston Russell, 40.
So it isn’t surprising the family were pleased to welcome a girl: “When your daughter has a daughter, it's a big deal... We have a lot of boys,” Hawn told People.
