Amanda Holden's most complained about BGT outfits as presenter asks viewers to stop going to Ofcom
Amanda Holden has called for Britain’s Got Talent viewers to make no outfit complaints to broadcasting regulator Ofcom ahead of the new season of the TV programme.
The 52-year-old judge joked about the complaints that have been made by several of her outfits in the past, including one that saw her receive 633 complaints from viewers.

“It's like the problem is everyone talking about my t*ts while these two all the time... [Bruno Tonioli and Simon Cowell]. [Simon's] shirt's always undone and [Bruno's] stripping off. No Ofcom complaints about me this year, please,” Holden said at the Britain's Got Talent Q&A ahead of the premiere.
Tonioli added: “If you got it flaunt it and you girls [Holden and Alesha Dixon] got it. I don't understand this complaining, what is the problem?”

Holden replied: “It's nothing, people have too much time on their hands.”
Holden has previously said that she's received more comments about her style as she's gotten older.
"No one really paid much attention to what I wore when I was in my 20s or 30s," Holden previously told The Sun. "I enjoy it, it’s all good fun. I would always rather be overdressed than underdressed for any situation.
"Hopefully it means we can shift that old-fashioned attitude of, ‘Well, I can’t wear that because I’m 51’, or, ‘I can’t do my hair this colour because I’m in my 50s."
Amanda Holden’s BGT outfits that have received the most complaints
June 2017 - 633 complaints
When Holden wore this plunging Julien Macdonald gown worth £11,000 in 2017, it received 633 Ofcom complaints.
At the time Holden told OK! magazine: “That dress was hysterical – it was Julien Macdonald. I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together.
"But, look, I'm from a small-chest family, plus you know I'm 48 years old. It's all quite laughable, but [it’s] all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up.”
The dress was later named as receiving the most Ofcom complaints of the year for 2017.
May 2019 - 9 complaints
In 2019, a dress by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran sparked complaints when worn by Holden due to its sheer panel.
The dress saw half of the gown in an opaque white hue covered in flowers, while the other half was sheer with a spider web over Holden’s breast.

Ofcom told Yahoo at the time that the complaints for this dress were due to its “revealing” nature.
May 2019 - 34 complaints
The night after Holden wore the Nicolas Jebran dress, she sparked more Ofcom complaints in a gown by Lebanese designer Saiid Kobeisy.
Featuring a plunging neckline, the regulator said the dress received 34 complaints.
September 2020 - 235 complaints
In 2020, after wearing a navy Celia Kritharioti off-the-shoulder dress with a V-neckline, some fans thought they could see Holden’s nipples out the top of her dress prompting 235 complaints about the dress to Ofcom.
“Mmmm really?! Who has nipples this close to their cleavage?!” Holden said on her Instagram story at the time, responding to the comments. “FYI. A boned corset dented the girls all night.”
October 2020 - 136 complaints
During an October 2020 episode, Holden wore a plum Suzanne Neville dress with a lace corset top.
Of the 896 reported complaints made to Ofcom about the episode, Holden later clarified that just 136 of these were specifically about her dress.
“Just to say this dress got a tiny 136 complaints out of the 896 we apparently got that night,” she said on Instagram at the time, as per Hello! Magazine.
“Surely there are more terrible and important things to write about...don't you agree? I'm baffled why it's still going on.”
