Harry Kane 'gutted' after picking up potential season-ending during Spurs' victory over Man City
Harry Kane has declared himself ‘gutted’ after limping off during Tottenham’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg victory over Manchester City.
The England and Spurs skipper rolled his ankle when making a challenge on City’s Fabian Delph and immediately headed for the tunnel, fully aware that it was not simply a knock.
Kane has had issues with ankle ligaments in the past three seasons and will undergo a scan on Thursday to determine the extent of the damage.

It would appear that Kane is a near-certainty to miss next week’s second-leg at City, when Spurs will look to upset the odds and reach the Champions League semi-final for the first time.
There are doubts as to whether he will return again this season, while England’s UEFA Nations League semi-final with Holland and potential final in early June could also prove to be too soon.
Pochettino labelled it a ‘very, very, very sad’ situation after the final whistle on Tuesday night.
“Same ankle and similar issue,” he confirmed. “[It’s] very, very, very sad, very disappointed. It’s going to be tough.
“We’re going to miss him maybe for the rest of the season and that is a worry for us and a worry for him.
“It’s going to be tough. Hopefully it is not a big issue but there isn’t too much time for recovery. He twisted his ankle and we’ll see how he reacts in the next few of hours.”
