New on Sky Cinema and NOW in May 2022: New movies and TV to stream from 'The Flight Attendant' to 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife'
In the wake of his retirement from acting for medical reasons earlier this year, we only have a few new Bruce Willis projects left to savour. One of them is heading to Sky Cinema and NOW this month as Willis plays the leader of a mercenary gang in thriller Deadlock.
Elsewhere, the streamer brings Ghostbusters: Afterlife to the small screen and gives horror fans something to enjoy with the return of Michael Myers in Halloween Kills. On the TV front, Kaley Cuoco returns for a second season of The Flight Attendant and Colin Firth leads based-on-truth crime tale The Staircase.

New movies on Sky Cinema and NOW in May 2022
Deadlock (7 May)
Jared Cohn directs this tense action-thriller, in which Bruce Willis plays the head honcho of a mercenary gang who believe that the government is treacherously working against them. They take hostages during an attack on an energy plant, leaving a retired military man played by Patrick Muldoon to try to save those trapped inside.
The Survivor (15 May)
The Oscar-winning Rain Man filmmaker Barry Levinson helms this intense drama set at the Auschwitz camp during the Second World War. Ben Foster undergoes a remarkable transformation to portray Polish prisoner Harry Haft, who took to taking on boxing fights against his fellow camp inmates in order to stay alive for as long as he possibly could.
Danny DeVito, Vicky Krieps and John Leguizamo are also in the cast.
New TV on Sky and NOW in May 2022
Agatha Raisin S4 (2 May)
Ashley Jensen returns as the titular PR guru turned sleuth in the fourth series of this mystery programme, based on the series of books by M. C. Beaton. Alongside Jensen, the series also stars Gavin and Stacey actor Mathew Horne and Emmerdale's Jason Merrells.
History's Greatest Mysteries with Laurence Fishburne S3 (3 May)
Matrix actor Laurence Fishburne returns for new episodes of his series, decoding mystery-shrouded events and people from history. The third series begins with an episode about The Amber Room — a priceless collection of amber panels stolen by the Nazis during the Second World War.
Nature's Dress Code: Who Wears What and Why? (3 May)
This new documentary from Sky Nature explores the different ways various animals use the natural world for reasons of style and fashion — in their own special way, of course.
The Staircase (5 May)
In December 2001, Kathleen Peterson died. Her husband claimed she had fallen down a set of stairs and hit her head, but authorities were not inclined to believe his version of events. The mystery formed the centre of the defining true crime documentary by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, which became a buzzy Netflix success a few years ago.
It has now been transformed into a scripted series by The Devil All the Time filmmaker Antonio Campos, with Toni Collette as Kathleen and Colin Firth as her husband Michael — a role originally set to be taken by Harrison Ford.
The Murder of Sarah Scazzi? (8 May)
This four-part documentary series reconstructs and analyses one of the most notorious murder cases in recent Italian history. Sarah Scazzi, who was 15 at the time, disappeared without a trace in 2010. Her family and their small town subsequently became the centrepiece of a media storm.
Mother Teresa: For the Love of God (9 May)
This three-part series explores the titular modern saint through numerous viewpoints, including those who knew her personally and those who were impacted by her actions.
The Blacklist S9 (11 May)
Fresh from its US airing last year, the ninth season of this crime series is back on British TV screens. James Spader is back as the criminal turned FBI asset, with the task force disbanded after the shocking conclusion of season eight. The team are soon driven back together to achieve their goal of taking down some of the world's most dangerous criminals.
Made for Murder S2 (11 May)
This series takes a forensic look at a selection of murders in an attempt to uncover the tell-tale psychological signs which might have provided early warnings as to what these people were capable of doing.
Guy Garvey: From the Vaults S3 (13 May)
Elbow frontman Guy Garvey is back for a third run of his Sky Arts documentary series in which he moves through music history with unearthed footage of live performances and long-forgotten interviews with some of the greats of the art form. The opening episode of this third series focuses on the Madchester scene of the late 1980s and 1990s.
Das Boot S3 (15 May)
This WW2 drama comes back and again focuses on the youthful crew of a U-boat pursued by a Royal Navy commander. A separate strand of the story involves the wrangling and manoeuvring of spies in the neutral territory of Portugal. From Sky Germany, this series has received critical acclaim.
NCIS: LA S13 (15 May)
This long-running procedural series focusing on an undercover team of cops is back on screens again, with a 14th season already commissioned.
SWAT S5 (15 May)
Shemar Moore reprises the title role in this thriller series as a former Marine working as the last line of defence in Los Angeles. As this fifth season begins, his character has relocated to Mexico in an attempt to reassess his life, before he is inevitably drawn back into violence.
River Hunters S3 (16 May)
TV presenter Rick Edwards and YouTube adventurer Beau Ouimette join forces once again on a river journey through the UK, hoping to shed light on some historical secrets of the waterways.
The Time Traveller's Wife (16 May)
Former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat is on adaptation duties for this fresh spin on the beloved 2003 novel by Audrey Niffenegger. Rose Leslie and Theo James play the characters destined to fall in love, only for their relationship to be tangled, shuffled and complicated by time travel.
Escher: Journey into Infinity (17 May)
This documentary explores the life and work of Dutch artist MC Escher — one of the most influential figures in the history of art. Stephen Fry narrates segments from Escher's lectures and letters as the doc attempts to build a picture of the man behind the mind-bending illustrations.
The Prince's Master Crafters: The Next Generation (18 May)
Numerous traditional crafts, from stained glass to woodcarving, are under threat in the UK. This seven-part series, fronted by Jim Moir, tasks amateur craftspeople with exploring some of these traditional disciplines in order to help preserve them for the future. The series will culminate with a final showcase in which the finished products are shown to Prince Charles himself.
The Flight Attendant S2 (26 May)
Kaley Cuoco returns as the buzzy mystery series gets another instalment, having been one of HBO's biggest recent hits. This time around, Cuoco's Cassie now works part time for the CIA, helping them to run surveillance on people between flights. When someone with a shocking resemblance to her carries out an assassination, she is plunged into a whole new mystery.
