Sam Neill teases his return in 'Thor: Love And Thunder'
Sam Neill has admitted that there’s a very good chance he’ll appear in Thor: Love And Thunder.
After originally working with writer and director Taika Waititi on Hunt For The Wilderpeople, Neill was asked to cameo in the 2017 Marvel blockbuster. Rather than having a huge part, though, Neill played an Asgardian actor who actually portrays Anthony Hopkins’ Odin on stage.
Over the last few weeks it has been reported that Matt Damon, who cameoed as the actor playing Loki in the same stage show, has flown out to Australia to reprise his role in Love And Thunder.

So it would make sense then that Neill will get the chance to do the same, too. That’s exactly what ET Online asked the New Zealand actor in their recent interview, and he responded with, "I think the odds are reasonably high.”

“I think Taika's got something up his sleeve. We will see what happens. Travel between [New Zealand] and Australia is problematic at the moment, but we will see if something can be worked out."
Of course, Neill has already been rather busy during the COVID-19 pandemic, as he recently completed filming on Jurassic World: Dominion. Neill once again portrays the character of Dr Alan Grant in the film, which also saw him reunite with his fellow Jurassic Park co-stars Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.
