Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone share 'Thor: Love and Thunder' audition tape on Instagram
Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone spent their Christmas auditioning for upcoming Marvel blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder — in their own unique style.
The husband and wife duo, who frequently collaborate on comedy movies, addressed an Instagram audition tape to Thor leading man Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi.

Opening the two-minute video, actor-director Falcone said: "Melissa and I are desperate to be in the film Love and Thunder.”
McCarthy then chipped in to say she was “not afraid to perform a monologue" in order to secure a role in the MCU.
Falcone — who has directed McCarthy on several occasions, including recent comedy Superintelligence — described himself as a “song and dance man”, while McCarthy offered her skills to the craft services department as a maker of hummus.
She said: “I can make a wonderful hummus. I can make an edamame hummus. I can make a traditional hummus.”

Falcone joked he and McCarthy would be willing to play “love and thunder, or thunder and love” in the movie, which will be the fourth solo outing for Hemsworth’s Avenger.
The movie will mark the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will acquire super-powers herself and become Mighty Thor.

McCarthy and Falcone are currently in Australia filming another of their collaborations, before McCarthy returns to the set of Disney’s live-action take on The Little Mermaid.
The comedy star is playing villainous sea witch Ursula in the movie and told Yahoo Movies UK earlier this year that she has developed a real affection for the character.

She said: “The whole process with Rob Marshall has just been amazing. It's such a juicy, great part. I can't wait.
“I've kind of fallen in love with her. I have seen The Little Mermaid like nine billion times, strangely, so to get to play Ursula was like a dream come true.”
Preparation for Thor: Love and Thunder, meanwhile, is in full swing, with Hemsworth revealing his hardcore training regime ahead of the planned start to filming in the new year.
Those involved are teasing something even stranger and more unhinged than Waititi’s previous Thor movie — 2017’s Ragnarok — with Hemsworth describing it as showing the director at his “most extreme”.

Waititi himself said that the premise of the movie is “like 10-year-olds told us what should be in a movie and we said yes to every single thing”.
Thor: Love and Thunder is due to be released in February 2022.
