Disney's streaming arm is celebrating a special Disney+ Day event this month, meaning there's even more on the way from the streamer than usual. The studio's Home Alone reboot is just weeks away, alongside adult drama Dopesick and the streaming debut of the most recent Marvel blockbuster, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Perhaps the main event of the month, though, comes a few weeks later when we return to the MCU once again with Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner reprises the role he has been playing for close to a decade, with Hailee Steinfeld joining the fold as fan favourite character Kate Bishop.

Original movies coming to Disney+ UK in November 2021
Home Sweet Home Alone (12 November)
Eyebrows were raised when Disney first announced that it was rebooting Home Alone, and many of them have remained raised ever since. The original movie, starring Macaulay Culkin, is a 1990s classic and a regular festive rewatch for many people and so there was scepticism about whether a new take on the property would be a good idea — especially given the franchise's previous bad track record with sequels.

But this new movie stars Jojo Rabbit standout Archie Yates as the youngster accidentally left out of a family break and forced to defend his home from Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney as husband and wife burglars. The ingredients are good for this one, so skeptics should beware being forced to scoff down humble pie with their Christmas pudding.
Jungle Cruise (12 November)
Several months after it appeared on the streaming platform for those willing to pay for Premier Access, Jungle Cruise is now set to become available to all subscribers. Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt headline the action-adventure, based on a beloved ride from Disney's theme park empire.
The movie received decent reviews on its cinema run and made enough cash that Disney is pushing ahead with a sequel, which will reunite the two stars. That seems as good a reason as any to give this a whirl if you missed it first time around.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (12 November)
While Marvel chose a hybrid release for Black Widow earlier this year, it's latest effort was a cinema-only affair. But now, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is making its streaming bow. Simu Liu portrays the titular hero, who has grown up in America away from the influence of his father (Tony Leung).
It's one of the stronger Marvel efforts in recent years, helped by Liu's terrific performance, some great comic supporting work by Awkwafina and some genuinely fantastic fight choreography. The arrival of Shang-Chi is definitely one of the most promising developments of the MCU's ongoing Phase Four.
Becoming Cousteau (24 November)
Jacques-Yves Cousteau is a fascinating figure in French history. He's a hugely important person in the history of marine exploration, wildlife conservation and even the documentary film industry. This documentary from filmmaker Liz Garbus provides a look at Cousteau's impact on the world, but also the man behind the legend.
Original TV shows coming to Disney+ UK in November 2021
The Premise (Star, E1-2 on 3 November and then weekly)
This anthology series from The Office and Inglourious Basterds star B. J. Novak focuses on a series of topical subjects, with each episode taking on a different cast of characters. The most eye-catching element of the series is definitely the cast, which includes a hugely varied ensemble.
Jon Bernthal, Ben Platt, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kaitlyn Dever and Lucas Hedges are among those who appear across the five episodes.
Dopesick (Star, E1-2 on 12 November and then weekly from 17 November)
Empire co-creator Danny Strong and Michael Keaton serve as executive producers for this hard-hitting drama focusing on the opioid epidemic in the USA. The eight-episode series takes on the problem from different angles, including the DEA, the boardrooms of pharmaceutical companies and a small mining community hit by addiction. Keaton, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever and Rosario Dawson lead the cast.
Olaf Presents (12 November)
After Olaf did such a good job of recapping the events of the first Frozen movie in sequel Frozen 2, Disney seems to have leaned into that concept for new series Olaf Presents. The show sees Olaf take on various roles as he traces the stories of some of Disney's most famous movies.
Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett (12 November)
With spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett due to appear on Disney+ before the end of the year, the streamer is delving into the character's history. One of the most beloved supporting players in the history of Star Wars, this special will examine Fett's debut in the maligned Holiday Special and his appearances in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Of course, his return in the second season of The Mandalorian will also feature heavily.
The World According to Jeff Goldblum S2 (12 November)
One of the most highly anticipated shows when Disney+ launched in the UK last year was The World According to Jeff Goldblum, in which the quirky Jurassic Park star cast his unique eye over a series of seemingly random topics. The show is now back for a second run and the teaser picture features Goldblum with a puppy. What more can you want?
Hawkeye (weekly from 24 November)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a very strong track record on Disney+, since WandaVision made a big splash at the beginning of the year. The fourth Marvel series will be Hawkeye, with Jeremy Renner reprising the role he has played since the early days of the MCU. Hailee Steinfeld joins the cast as Kate Bishop, who Clint Barton is seemingly training as something of an apprentice.
There's an X-factor in the background as well, given where Florence Pugh's assassin Yelena was left at the end of Black Widow.
The Choe Show (Star, 24 November)
Acclaimed artist David Choe allows viewers into his childhood home in The Choe Show, in which he puts forward his view of the world. The series talks about the importance of empathy and compassion, telling his stories with honesty and emotion.
The Beatles: Get Back (25-27 November)
Three years after he delivered a transformational look at the First World War with the exceptional They Shall Not Grow Old, Peter Jackson has deployed his film restoration techniques for an epic take on the most famous band in music history. Across six hours, Get Back follows the making of the 1970 Beatles record Let It Be and culminates with their famous rooftop concert in 1969.
