Deadpool may not appear in Logan after all
Hold onto your chimichangas – Deadpool may not be in ‘Logan’.
According to Umberto Gonzalez at The Wrap, a source close to the project revealed that Ryan Reynolds will make a cameo appearance as Deadpool in the upcoming Wolverine solo film.
But don’t get too excited – director James Mangold says it’s BS.

“For everyone freaking out, @TheWrap is dealing in fake news,” he said via Twitter. “Chill.”
Maybe @TheWrap is the show biz Breitbart. #fakenews

"@TheWrap has not reported Deadpool & Logan would appear side-by-side." Cause Deadpool ain't in the film, pal. Keep backtracking.#fakenews

It seems that James Mangold’s message is clear – Deadpool won’t be in the movie.
And he’s not the only one to say that.
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

But can we believe it?
It wouldn’t be the first time a studio has flat out lied about a scoop being false in order to try and preserve the integrity of their movie. But let’s be honest – something about this just feels a bit wrong. After his appearance in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, a Deadpool cameo might feel a little out of place, especially if the two mutants were to meet.
But The Wrap clarifies that’s not exactly what they meant.
“For the record, TheWrap has not reported that Deadpool and Logan would appear side-by-side,” they added in an update.
Maybe it’s possible that Ryan Reynolds has filmed a ‘Deadpool’ stinger which will screen at the end of ‘Logan’… and maybe the film’s director and key talents all remain oblivious to the fact that it’s happening.
But that’s a bit of a stretch.
Either way, it looks as though Deadpool won’t be suiting up alongside Wolverine. And it seems he won’t be in the movie at all. But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
‘Logan’ stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine alongside Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Stephen Merchant, Boyd Holbrook, and Richard E Grant.
James Mangold directed the movie based on a script he co-wrote with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
‘Logan’ heads to cinemas on 3 March 2017.
