New York Giants NFL draft picks 2024: Full list of team's round-by-round selections
Here is a 2024 NFL draft pick-by-pick breakdown for the New York Giants:
Round 1 (No. 6 overall) — Malik Nabers, WR, LSU: Jaylen Daniels' primary target the past two seasons in Baton Rouge, Nabers, who led the SEC in receptions each of the past two seasons, really blossomed during a 2023 All-American campaign (89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 TDs). As highly regarded as Harrison is, some NFL observers believe Nabers has even more upside. At 6 feet, 200 pounds, he blazed a sub-4.4 40-yard dash at LSU's pro day, though Nabers, 20, claimed it was sub-4.3 on some stopwatches. He should be a highly welcomed addition to embattled QB Daniel Jones, whose contract sets this season up as a make-or-break campaign for him personally. The Giants, who haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. (also an LSU product) in 2018, badly needed an alpha playmaker after losing RB Saquon Barkley to Philadelphia in free agency. Round 2 (47, from Seahawks) — Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota: A team that lost Xavier McKinney in free agency gets perhaps this draft's best safety. Nubin had 12 INTs over the past three years. Usually a center fielder, he can also defend from the slot. Draft tracker
Round 3 (70) — Andru Phillips, CB, Kentucky: Good athlete and a confident one, who will compete out wide or inside. He'll also take on assignments from slot receivers to tight ends. Draft tracker
Round 4 (107) — Theo Johnson, TE, Penn State: Johnson is one of the best size-speed-athleticism prospects at the position in the draft. At 6 feet, 4 inches and 247 pounds, he ran a 4.57 40-yard dash and posted the fastest shuttle time in the class among tight ends. He'll need to improve his blocking to stick in the league but offers a lot of potential. Draft tracker
Round 5 (166, from 49ers through Panthers) — Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, Purdue: Tracy Jr.'s one of the more intriguing talents in the draft. A longtime wide receiver, Tracy Jr. transitioned to running back in 2023 and put up good numbers. Is he a wide receiver or a receiving running back? In either role, the Giants could use another boost to the offense and he's worth developing. Draft tracker
Round 6 (183) — Darius Muasau, LB, UCLA: The Giants continue to load up on defense but at an interesting position here. Between Bobby Okereke and 2022 draft pick Micah McFadden, Muasau might struggle to find a consistent role. He's an all-around solid linebacker but lacks the athleticism to make big plays in coverage. He'll likely be a backup with spot starting potential. Draft tracker
