AUBURN − Auburn football stellar freshman receiver Cam Coleman didn't waste time to get his first collegiate score on Saturday.
The Tigers' offense was rolling, but Coleman took it up a notch beating his defender with a stutter step before catching his first pass and touchdown wide open in the end zone. It was a 44-yard pass from Payton Thorne. The score put the Tigers up 21-0 over Alabama A&M before the midway point of the first quarter.

It was the third touchdown of the game and continued a stretch of three straight plays finding the endzone for the Tigers. The first was Jarquez Hunter finding pay dirt after a 37-yard run and then KeAndre Lambert-Smith scoring on a 67-yard pass from Thorne before Coleman electrified the crowd with a big play of his own.
Thorne has gone 4 of 5 for 132 yards and two scores, while Lambert-Smith has two of the catches for 76 yards. Coleman has the one catch for 44 yards and the score.
Coleman was a five star recruit from Phenix City, helping Central-Phenix City win the AHSAA Class 7A state title during his senior year before enrolling in January. He earned Class 7A Back of the Year honors from the ASWA and earned Class 7A title game MVP honors. He had 61 catches for 1,372 yards with 18 touchdowns his senior year of high school.
