The United States men's basketball team will begin the 2024 Paris Olympic knockout stages with a quarterfinals game against Brazil on Tuesday.

Team USA earned the top seed in the eight-team, single-elimination bracket after it went 3-0 in Group C play. Brazil went 1-2 in Group B play.

USA vs Brazil prediction in 2024 Paris Olympic quarterfinals

Brazil excels on defense, where it only allowed an average of 82.7 points per game. It also has numerous former NBA players on the roster such as Bruno Caboclo, a 6-9 forward who's averaging 13 points and 7.3 rebounds.

But Brazil doesn't have the firepower on offense to keep up with the United States. Team USA leads all teams in points per game (105.7), and it should advance to the semifinals without too much trouble.

Prediction: United States 105, Brazil 80

All respect to Brazil, but this shouldn't take much critical thinking. The United States has been the most convincing team in the Paris field by far.

Brazil isn't exactly the USA's toughest opponent to date, a fair reward for dominating the field to this point.

Prediction: United States 107, Brazil 83
