The final out!

Tennessee baseball: NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

Aaron Combs faces the top of the Aggies' order. Combs threw four innings on Sunday, throwing 64 pitches.

Gavin Grahovac doubles to lead off the inning. Andrew Behnke and Marcus Phillips are throwing in the Vols' bullpen.

Jace LaViolette strikes out, chasing a high fastball on a 3-2 pitch. Huge K for Combs. One out.

Jackson Appel hits a RBI single to left field. Vols 6, Aggies 4. Texas A&M will have the tying run at the plate.

Hayden Schott strikes out on a high fastball, which has been Combs' best pitch. Two out.

Ted Burton comes to the plate. Appel takes second base on defensive indifference, then moves to third base on a balk.

Combs' wild pitch over Stark allows the runner to score. Vols 6, Aggies 5.

Combs strikes out Ted Burton! The Tennessee Volunteers are the 2024 baseball national champions!

Tennessee 6, Texas A&M 3, bottom 8th: Vols closing in

Cal Stark's one-out double is cancelled out when he is caught in a rundown on a quick throw by Jackson Appel with two out.

To the 9th inning, and Aaron Combs is on to pitch. Can the Vols finish this off?

Tennessee 6, Texas A&M 3, top 8th: Three outs from a national championship

Nate Snead continues on to open the eighth inning, and Jackson Appel leads off with a single. Appel twice advances 90 feet on a wild pitch, then scores on a RBI single by Hayden Schott.

Sorrell scores on a one-out RBI double by Caden Sorrell. Vols now lead 6-3. Kirby Connell is coming into the game for Snead.

After allowing an infield single, Connell goes strictly off-speed to get two strikeouts to get out of the inning. The Vols' left-hander takes advantage of the Aggies' eager No. 8 and No. 9 hitters.

Tennessee 6, Texas A&M 1, bottom 7th: Is that the dagger?

Dylan Dreiling, College World Series MVP?

Billy Amick gets a single with two out, then Dylan Dreiling sends a two-run home run into the Texas A&M bullpen in right field. Vols 5, Aggies 1.

The Tennessee fan contingency in in Omaha is feeling it.

Hunter Ensley singles, then scores on a crushed RBI double by Kavares Tears. The relay throw from A&M was perfect, but Ensley somehow avoided the tag at home and touched home plate. Wow. Vols lead 6-1.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, top 7th: Aggies threatening, but not scoring

Kaeden Kent singles and pinch-hitter Ryan Targac walks with one out. Nate Snead is not nearly as sharp today as in Game 2, but he'll face Gavin Grahovac.

Grahovac flies out, and Kent moves to third. Two out for Jace LaViolette.

LaViolette chops one past Blake Burke, but Christian Moore makes the play for the 4-3 putout to end the inning. What a moment there for Moore, Burke and Snead to get out of the jam.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, bottom 6th: Evan Aschenbeck enters

This is a big point in the game. After stranding two in the top half, Texas A&M sends Evan Aschenbeck into the game to pitch. He's been very, very good this season and in Omaha, but if the Vols can plate a run or two after the Aggies were denied, that could be a huge swing.

Dean Curley hits a double to left field, but the Vols' bottom of the lineup cannot drive him in. To the 7th inning.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, top 6th: Aggies strand two

After back-to-back singles, Zander Sechrist exits the game. Nate Snead gets the Vols out of the inning cleanly after Blake Burke catches a line drive for the final out of the A&M 6th.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, bottom 5th: Vols can't put this away yet

Dylan Dreiling continues to be very productive, hitting a two-out bloop double that spins away from a Texas A&M outfielder. But Hunter Ensley flies out to right field to end the inning. Vols offense hasn't quite put this game away yet despite the Zander Sechrist gem in-progress.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, top 5th: Zander Sechrist continues to excel

Zander Sechrist strikes out the side in the A&M 5th as he continues to pitch well in the postseason. Nate Snead is likely the next pitcher up for the Vols, Tony Vitello tells ESPN in between innings, and that time is coming up soon. Snead was throwing during that inning in the bullpen.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, bottom 4th

Vols are retired in order against Aggies pitcher Josh Stewart. The Aggies will likely look for at least another inning for Stewart before turning to Evan Aschenbeck unless the Vols can put up a big inning.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, top 4th

Ted Burton walks and steals second base, but the Aggies can't score him against Zander Sechrist.

Sechrist has been very good so far, allowing a run on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts in 63 pitches.

Tennessee 3, Texas A&M 1, bottom 3rd: Vols add two

Blake Burke doubles to center to lead off the UT 3rd, moves to third base on a flyout and scores on a RBI sacrifice fly by Dylan Dreiling.

Back-to-back singles knocks out Aggies starter Justin Lamkin, and Dean Curley drives in Hunter Ensley with a RBI single.

Tennessee 1, Texas A&M 1, top 3rd: Aggies get a run by running

Aggies No. 9 hitter Travis Chesnut bunts with two strikes and reaches, moving to second base after Cal Stark's throw gets past Blake Burke. Chesnut then steals third base and scores on a RBI single by Gavin Grahovac.

Zander Sechrist gets a double play to end the inning. The Vols defense has been good at times, especially in the outfield, but it also has aided the Aggies with runs in Game 1 and Game 3.

Tennessee 1, Texas A&M 0, bottom 2nd

Cal Stark works a two-out walk, but Christian Moore pops out in foul territory to end the inning.

Tennessee 1, Texas A&M 0, top 2nd

Zander Sechrist works around a leadoff single with a couple flyouts and a strikeout.

Tennessee 1, Texas A&M 0, bottom 1st: Christian Moore HR leads off Tennessee 1st

Aggies starter Justin Lamkin gets ahead of Christian Moore in the count, but Moore lines a 1-2 pitch down the left-field line and into the bullpen for a solo home run. Vols lead 1-0. Big-time start for the Tennessee star.

Blake Burke singles and Dylan Dreiling walks, but the Vols cannot get another run across.

Tennessee 0, Texas A&M 0, top 1st

Tennessee is the home team tonight. Zander Sechrist throws the first pitch at 7:09 p.m. ET, a strike to Gavin Grahovac.

Grahovac flies out to right field for the first out. The wind is blowing in at points, so it could impact fly balls tonight.

Sechrist works a 1-2-3 inning as the Vols look to take an early lead.
