Soon before this season began, Colorado State quarterback Brayden Folwer-Nicolosi and star wide receiver Tory Horton shared some disrespectful comments about the Colorado Buffaloes.

"The hype, the media train, it only gets you so far," Fowler-Nicolosi told Romi Bean of CBS Colorado. "At the end of the day, you have to line up your 11 guys against our 11 guys and we'll find out who wants it more. We'll see how far Instagram followers gets them."

Now, those Instagram followers are eating up Colorado's 28-9 victory in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. After the game, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders shared a heated postgame interaction with Fowler-Nicolosi, who had made a disrespectful gesture toward fellow CU star Travis Hunter late in the second quarter. Sanders refused Fowler-Nicolosi's postgame handshake and made sure to remind him about those preseason comments.

Sanders threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns while Fowler-Nicolosi completed 22 of his 39 passes for 209 yards. CSU turned the ball over four times, three of which were attributed to BFN (two interceptions and one fumble lost).
