Shane Beamer picks South Carolina football seniors for SEC Media Days, not QB LaNorris Sellers
COLUMBIA — The SEC announced on Monday that Alex "Boogie" Huntley, Luke Doty and Debo Williams will represent South Carolina football at the 2024 SEC Media days in Dallas at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
Coach Shane Beamer and players are scheduled to meet with the media on the first day of the four-day event on July 15.
LaNorris Sellers, who was named the starting quarterback by Beamer after spring practices concluded was not selected.
Beamer not only has a new quarterback, but the Gamecocks lost their top target wide receiver, star running back, a consistent tight end and enters 2024 with many unknowns. It's likely Beamer went with three of his most veteran players, choosing two who have started their careers at South Carolina.
Doty, a redshirt senior, has split time at quarterback, wide receiver and special teams. Doty has been with the Gamecocks his entire college career and played in 12 games last season. He was given the 2024 Spirit Award for the spring season. Doty is an experienced player molded by Beamer and his staff.
Huntley, a defensive tackle, also brings experience as he's played in at least one game for the Gamecocks every season the last four years. He's also been given a spirit award twice.

Linebacker Debo Williams can easily be called the glue to the defense. He's spent three years with the Gamecocks after starting his career in his home state of Delaware. He was named captain in 2023.
