See where Ja Morant, other Memphis Grizzlies finished in NBA All-Star voting
Ja Morant played in only nine games this season, but he still finished in the top 10 of NBA All-Star fan voting.
Final voting numbers were released Thursday night as the starters were announced, and Morant checked in at No. 9 among Western Conference guards. He finished 15th in player voting and did not receive any votes from the media, which left him at No. 9 overall. Voting from the fans, players and media determines the starters, with fan voting counting as double.
Three voting groups determined the starters:
▪️ Fans (50%)
▪️ NBA players (25%)
▪️ Media panel (25%)

No Grizzlies player came close to making it in the frontcourt, but Jaren Jackson Jr. got 22 player votes. Santi Aldama got 11, Steven Adams (who has not played all season) got seven, Xavier Tillman Sr. got six and Bismack Biyombo got three.
Ziaire Williams, David Roddy and Brandon Clarke (who also has not played all season) got one each.
Coaches vote on the reserves.
Morant got steady support throughout the All-Star voting process even though he was ruled out for the season on Jan. 8 with a shoulder injury. He was suspended for the first 25 games of the season because of conduct detrimental to the league, but the Grizzlies had played better when he returned in December and went 6-3 when he was in the lineup.
Memphis has struggled without Morant this season, and has been dealing with a spate of injuries to Bane, Aldama, Smart and Derrick Rose.
