Ja Morant's Memphis Grizzlies season is over, but fans trying to make him NBA All-Star
Ja Morant has played only nine games this season. But that hasn't stopped fans from trying to vote him into the NBA All-Star Game.
Morant — who missed the first 25 games of the season because of a suspension and is now out for the season with a shoulder injury — was still eighth among guards in the Western Conference in the All-Star voting returns released Thursday. Morant, who made the All-Star Game the past two seasons, was just ahead of Devin Booker (Suns) and Austin Reaves (Lakers).
LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo lead their respective conferences in the third fan returns of #NBAAllStar Voting presented by AT&T.

The All-Star starters are determined by the fan vote, which counts for 50%, as well as voting by the players and media.
Fans around the league have done their best to try voting Morant in. He's behind Luka Dončić, Steph Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Edwards and De'Aaron Fox. Voting is open until Saturday.
The Grizzlies announced on Jan. 8 that Morant suffered a labral tear in his right shoulder during practice and would have season-ending surgery. He is expected to be ready for the 2024-2025 season.
The Grizzlies (15-25) are back in action Thursday night against the Timberwolves in Minnesota.
