We are officially at the midpoint of the 2024 regular season and the New Orleans Saints are currently sitting at 2-7 after firing their head coach Dennis Allen on Monday. The season has obviously turned for the worst as no one would have predicted, but there's hope in a fresh start after consecutive underwhelming seasons.

With special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi being called up to be the Saints interim head coach, there's a confidence in him coming from the players that he will be able to get the most out of them. Rizzi is one of the most respected coaches in the league and brings a ton of energy to the team. We can expect the vibe around this team to be much different as he's now the guy commanding the room. This effect can potentially be an underlying factor on how this team finishes out their season.

Injuries will also play a major factor going forward with multiple key losses both offensively and defensively and will have to overcome this to some degree to pull out wins. For this team at the least, is to finish this season on a high note and build back up the culture that led to many successful seasons in the last decade and a half.

Here's how we see the rest of the season playing out for the New Orleans Saints:

Week 10 vs. Atlanta Falcons

In Darren Rizzi's first game as interim head coach of the Saints, the team should be "energized" to match his personality as he said they would be. Atlanta is coming off of a convincing win against Dallas, sitting comfortably atop of the South. I can see the Saints come out fiery on the defensive side of the ball, even with injuries in the secondary. We're taking the Saints here to shock Atlanta in the dome.

Prediction: Win (3-7)

Week 11 vs. Cleveland Browns

This could potentially be a humbling game for the Saints as they face a very talented offensive line. With Nick Chubb back in the fold, there's the potential for the Saints to get gashed in this game. Not to mention the impact of Myles Garrett, with no receivers that are able to separate quickly for the Saints, could lead to a long day for the offense. We're going to take the Browns in a low scoring game here.

Prediction: Loss (3-8)

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Way to much firepower on offense for the Rams with both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in the fold. This could easily be a blowout if the Saints can't put some points on the board early.

Prediction: Loss (3-9)

Week 14 at New York Giants

The New York Giants are another struggling team but with little talent on the roster and a quarterback who's likely in his last season with the team. The Saints should be able to take care of business simply with the talent that they have on defense and shutting down the Giants offense rather quickly.

Prediction: Win (4-9)

Week 15 vs. Washington Commanders

LANDOVER, MARYLAND - OCTOBER 10: Terry McLaurin #17 of the Washington Football Team misses a pass as Marshon Lattimore #23 of the New Orleans Saints defends during the second half at FedExField on October 10, 2021 in Landover, Maryland. (Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images)

The "Lattimore Revenge Game" is what everyone will love to call this but the result of this one will have little to do with him. With the way Jayden Daniels is playing and the Saints history of their inability to contain mobile quarterbacks, the Commanders just might steamroll this Saints team.

Prediction: Loss (4-10)

Week 16 at Green Bay Packers

The Packers are a team that spreads the ball to a lot of different receivers which will be very tough to defend with the injuries in the Saints' secondary. That along with their opportunistic defense could also lead to a long day for this team. Green Bay should win this one.

Prediction: Loss (4-11)

Week 17 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - OCTOBER 30: Alvin Kamara #41 of the New Orleans Saints scores touchdown in the second quarter as he gets hit by Tre'von Moehrig #25 and Amik Robertson #21 of the Las Vegas Raiders at Caesars Superdome on October 30, 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The now "Derek Carr Revenge Game". We actually have Carr getting this win against his former team as the Raiders are a team with minimal talent on either side of the ball. By then the Saints should be relatively healthy and should be able to beat a team they're more talented than.

Prediction: Win (5-11)

Week 18 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs will likely have Mike Evans back in the lineup for this one and potentially fighting for a playoff spot here. Coincidentally, Marshon Lattimore will not be up for this one as we know which actually could be a huge difference in this game. But overall, the Bucs are the better team right now. They should close out the season with a win at home.

Prediction: Loss (5-12)
