Miami Dolphins set 53-man roster on 2024 NFL cut day: See the team
MIAMI GARDENS — The initial 53-man Miami Dolphins roster will not include stars Odell Beckham, Jr. or Bradley Chubb or projected starting guard Isaiah Wynn, underrated receiver River Cracraft or depth corner Cam Smith.
None of those players are healthy enough to contribute when the Dolphins open the 2024 season at home against the Jaguars on Sept. 8. They'll all be eligible to return to the team later in the season.
Among the other notable players who did not survive roster cuts on Tuesday: wide receiver Erik Ezukanma, running back Chris Brooks, linebacker Curtis Bolton, defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, defensive tackle Jonathan Harris and cornerback Nik Needham.
The Dolphins released long snapper Blake Ferguson. It would seem possible they're just using the roster spot and he returns in the future.
All seven draft picks made the team except seventh-rounder Tahj Washington, a receiver who is on injured reserve. Undrafted rookie cornerback Storm Duck and center Andrew Meyer also made the squad.
NFL cut day: Miami Dolphins set 53-man roster without Odell Beckham, Jr.
The Dolphins will likely look to add a quarterback to back up Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson, though he may be a practice squad player. Veteran Mike White was released on Sunday.
Miami kept only four receivers — Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Braxton Berrios and rookie Malik Washington.
The Dolphins did keep Jeff Wilson as a veteran fourth running back.
In a slight surprise, athletic, developmental Tanner Conner was retained as a fourth tight end.

The Dolphins kept a staggering 10 linebacker/edge players, including Channing Tindall, who may play a key role on special teams, and Anthony Walker, who has been out due to injury most of the summer.
Miami also kept six cornerbacks and five safeties, including safety Patrick McMorris.
Twenty players making the 53 were not with the organization in 2023.
