LSU baseball vs North Carolina prediction, odds for NCAA tournament regionals

Steven Milam wasn't going to let LSU baseball open the 2024 NCAA Tournament with a loss.

The freshman switch hitter hit home runs from both sides of the plate in the last three innings against No. 3 Wofford Friday, including the walkoff homer to lift LSU, 4-3, and advance his team in the Chapel Hill Regional winners bracket at Boshamer Stadium.

LSU is now 19-6 in its last 25 games and three of its last four games have featured late-game rallies and walk-off home runs, two of those coming from Milam.

How much magic do the No. 2 seed Tigers (41-21) have left in the tank? They'll find out against No. 1 host seed and No. 4 overall national seed North Carolina (44-12) Saturday afternoon (4 p.m., ESPN+).

The Tar Heels opened NCAA regional bracket play with a dramatic victory over No. 4 Long Island. UNC, who trailed 8-5 heading into the bottom of the ninth, plated six runs during its last at-bat of the game, capped by Gavin Gallaher's walkoff grand slam.
