To give you a glimpse into the importance of this weekend's SEC series in Tuscaloosa between LSU baseball and Alabama, one team is projected as of today as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament while the other is listed to just miss making the field of 64.
LSU (32-18, 9-15 SEC), the team that's currently projected to be on the outside looking in, needs to continue to collect wins against quality opponents in a bad way. Led by starting pitchers Gage Jump and Luke Holman, along with reliever Griffin Herring, LSU has won its last three SEC series after dropping the first five of conference play.
