LSU baseball live score updates vs Kentucky from SEC Baseball Tournament
Playing on Tuesday at the SEC Baseball Tournament was a new thing for Jay Johnson since taking over LSU baseball.
The coaches' first two seasons, the Tigers were comfortably into the double-elimination side of the bracket. But after coming out of the SEC gate struggles, after losing five straight series, Johnson's club has turned it around, winning four of its last five SEC series and knocked off No. 6 Georgia, 9-1, in its first-round single elimination game Tuesday.
No. 11 LSU (37-20) advances in the winners bracket to play No. 3 Kentucky (39-12) at the Hoover Metropolitan Wednesday morning (9:30 a.m., SEC Network).
Most college baseball insiders believe the Tigers have clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament following its conference tournament opening victory over the Bulldogs. And more wins in Hoover would only remove any other shreds of doubt left for LSU's case.
