A look at Oklahoma City's girls high school basketball Fab 10 rankings for Feb. 1
It’s a new month, and the latest edition of the Fab 10 rankings has arrived.
Each week, The Oklahoman’s Hallie Hart takes a look at the top girls basketball teams in the Oklahoma City area.
Here are the rankings for Feb. 1-7.

1. Putnam West (17-1)
Last week: 1
Up next: Friday vs. Lawton
What to know: The Patriots remain at the top. Showing that their loss to Edmond Santa Fe was just an outlier, they bounced back with a 57-35 victory against Yukon on Tuesday.

2. Edmond North (14-1)
Last week: 2
Up next: Friday at Mustang
What to know: After one loss, the Huskies have resumed their dominance. They vanquished Deer Creek, 80-29, and clobbered Norman North, 82-27. Creighton signee Allison Heathcock recently reached 1,000 career points.

3. Bethany (15-4)
Last week: 3
Up next: Friday at Anadarko
What to know: The Bronchos have extended their win streak to six games, and none of those were close. Bethany posted its highest score of the season in a 97-33 rout of Cache on Tuesday.

4. Edmond Memorial (14-3)
Last week: 4
Up next: Friday at U.S. Grant
What to know: The Bulldogs have rebounded well from their loss to Edmond North. After crushing Putnam City, 83-39, Edmond Memorial claimed a 48-40 win against Owasso. Janiyah Williams turned in another double-double to propel the Bulldogs past the Rams.

5. Choctaw (18-0)
Last week: 5
Up next: Friday vs. Bixby
What to know: The Yellowjackets have had some close calls, but they’ve kept their perfect record intact. Choctaw squeezed past Broken Arrow, 48-46, with 17 points from Kate Davis and 11 from Malarie Hawk.

6. El Reno (19-0)
Last week: 6
Up next: Friday vs. Elgin
What to know: The undefeated campaign continues. El Reno had one of its closest games of the season against Shawnee on Monday but walked away with a 39-30 win.
7. Carl Albert (14-4)
Last week: 8
Up next: Friday at Guthrie
What to know: The Titans are winning again. They bounced back from their loss to El Reno with a 66-60 victory against Elgin.

8. Putnam North (14-4)
Last week: 7
Up next: Friday at Capitol Hill
What to know: The past few days have been an interesting stretch for Putnam North. The Panthers claimed a solid victory against Mustang but fell to Deer Creek in a 54-50 upset. Although that loss was puzzling, Putnam North drops only one spot with a strong overall resume.
9. Mustang (14-5)
Last week: 9
Up next: Friday vs. Edmond North
What to know: After falling to Putnam North, the Broncos got back on track with a 48-30 win against Piedmont. Parker Simonsen led Mustang with 15 points, while Cherish Haywood provided nine points and eight rebounds.

10. Classen SAS (14-6)
Last week: NR
Up next: Friday vs. Star Spencer
What to know: The Comets enter the standings after defeating Washington, 56-39. Classen SAS is rolling on a six-game win streak that includes a Jones Kiwanis Invitational championship. Junior guard Skylar Durley is having a stellar season.
Just on the outside
Dale (21-1): The Pirates have redeemed themselves after their loss to Millwood with wins against Oklahoma Christian Academy and Christian Heritage.
Douglass (13-3): The Trojans have won seven straight games.
Midwest City (15-3): The Bombers hold a four-game win streak as De'Yanna Douglas continues her standout season.
Millwood (9-11): With three consecutive wins, the Falcons are beginning to soar at the right time of the season.
Norman (11-7): Junior guard Keeley Parks provided 29 points in a stunning 42-37 comeback win at Edmond Santa Fe.
Washington (16-3): The Warriors were No. 10 in the debut Fab 10 rankings, but they drop out after falling to Classen SAS.
