KD Johnson to enter transfer portal after three seasons with Auburn basketball
AUBURN — KD Johnson will enter the transfer portal after spending the last three seasons with Auburn basketball, he announced in an Instagram post with On3 Sports on Tuesday.
Johnson, who began his career at Georgia before transferring to the Tigers in May 2021, appeared in 102 games during his time on the Plains. He helped Auburn hang two banners, as the Tigers won the regular-season conference title in 2022 and the SEC Tournament championship in 2024.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Johnson averaged 9.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals while at Auburn. He started 32 games, with 31 of them coming during the 2021-22 campaign.
Johnson quickly became a fan favorite for the intensity in which he played the game, never shying away from getting into it with an opponent. He'll have one year of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
