DC FanDome: Zack Snyder's 'Justice League' will be released in the UK as a mini-series and a movie
Hallelujah! The first full trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League (aka #TheSnyderCut) has landed via DC’s very own ComicCon, DC FanDome, and it’s truly spectacular - packed full of epic emotion.
But, before we get to that, there’s great news for UK fans. As Snyder launched the trailer he announced: “To all my international fans, everyone watching all over the world, don’t worry if you don’t have HBO Max, we’re working on a distribution plan, so I promise you, you’re going to get a chance to see it.”
Snyder also confirmed that the film will be four hours long, and will be split into four parts in the first instance.
“It’s going to be in four parts, one hour each. So four hours of Justice League is coming your way. We’re going to work out a way of bundling it together so you can watch it as a single film if that’s the way you want to experience it.”
As for the trailer, it basically operates as a tick-list of everything fans have been clamoring for since the words ‘Snyder’ and ‘Cut’ were first hashtagged together.

Superman in the black suit! More Cyborg backstory! Barry Allen saving Iris West (Kiersey Clemons)! Clark hugging his mum and his girlfriend in a field?! DARKSEID...in a hoodie!
As for that gravelly final line, delivered by Bruce Wayne, presumably about Steppenwolf (but possibly Darkseid, depending on how crazy this cut gets): “He’s never fought us, not us united.”
Yeah, that one’s sure to get goosebumps raised on the arms of the #SnyderCut movement members who united to keep Zack Snyder’s vision trending all the way to its HBO Max premiere next year, the line does seem to be targeted directly at them.
Speaking at the Snyder Cut FanDome panel, Zack Snyder celebrated the fans.
“As a community we were able to make this happen,” he said.
“When we heard the news, we all got pretty emotional. It’s been an incredible journey. One of the amazing parts was we were able to interact with, and be part of this fan community in an amazing way. It’s changed us, and made us really grateful.”
“Feeling the incredible support for the work. Seeing these fan-generated events, that really have nothing to do with selling the movie, or anything to do with commerce, it’s really for love, and we feel it.”
There’s so much to enjoy in the new trailer, but our favourite detail? That Batman on the gargoyle moment. We’ve seen it before, of course, but as it was director of photography Fabian Wagner’s favourite shot (cut from Joss Whedon’s version, despite appearing in the trailers) we’re glad it’s back in.

While no official launch date has been given for Justice League on HBO Max, fans are expecting the extended version of the film will appear on the service towards the mid-point of 2021. We imagine a UK release will arrive at around the same time.
The trailer joins a new look at Wonder Woman 84, some cool Flashpoint revelations, and our first gawp at James Gunn’s Suicide Squad.
