The Indianapolis Colts won their first game of the 2024 preseason with a 21-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night.

Final: Colts win first preseason game of 2024
Jason Bean led the Indianapolis quarterbacks with 94 yards passing (7 for 9). Kedon Slovis threw for 79 yards as well (8 for 11). Zavier Scott led the way in the rushing attack with 55 yards and a score (11 attempts). Laquon Treadwell caught seven passes for 72 yards. On defense, Segun Olubi had 10 total tackles.

Indianapolis began its series on its own 43-yard line but the Colts have taken the ball all the way down to Arizona's 1.
Jason Bean completed a 30-yard pass to Jordan Murray as the highlight of the drive so far.
5:05 left 3Q: Cardinals cut the lead to 1-point
Matt Prater made a 27-yard field goal to cut Indianapolis' lead to 1.

Zavier Scott ran in a 6-yard score to give Indianapolis the lead back. That capped a 10-play, 75-yard drive. Jason Bean has thrown for 64 yards (6 for 8).

Halftime: Cardinals lead Colts at the half
In the final drive of the first half, the Cardinals scored on a 12-yard run by Clayton Tune.
Earlier in the half, Jason Bean took over for Sam Ehlinger at quarterback. Ehlinger went 4 for 7 with 38 yards.

Cardinals kicker Matt Prater made a 40-yard field goal to get Arizona on the scoreboard. The kick capped off a 10-play, 23-yard drive.
JuJu Brents suffered a nose injury and is out of the game.

Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez misses game for birth of daughter
Rigoberto Sanchez the Cardinals game for arguably the best possible reason.
Sanchez and his wife, Cynthia, were at the hospital after Cynthia gave birth to a baby girl.

Isaiah Land, a defensive end for the Colts, sacked Arizona quarterback Clayton Tune on 3rd and 6 to force a punt.
In their second series, the Colts moved the ball down the field well to start with a 22-yard pass from Ehlinger to Juwann Winfree. Tyler Goodson capped the drive off with an 8-yard rushing touchdown. Goodson scored last week as well.

11:07 left 1Q: Colts and Cardinals punt in their first series
The Colts defense forced the Cardinals to go three and out in Arizona's first series.
Sam Ehlinger gets the start at QB for Indianapolis. Last week against the Denver Broncos Ehlinger was 5 of 6 for 80 yards and an interception. In the second play of the series, Ehlinger was sacked. He ran for 11 yards on third and 12, but the Colts were forced to punt.

Colts vs Cardinals preview
The Colts starters played in the first preseason game against the Denver Broncos, but that won't be the case against the Cardinals. Head coach Shane Steichen said Indianapolis will not play its starters against Arizona.
“I’m not going to play the starters,” Steichen said. “They got the bulk of the work in the past two days. The twos and threes will go.”
