Colts P Rigo Sanchez missed Saturday's game vs. Cardinals due to birth of his daughter
INDIANAPOLIS — Rigoberto Sanchez missed Saturday night’s Colts preseason game for arguably the best possible reason.
Sanchez and his wife, Cynthia, were at the hospital after Cynthia gave birth to a baby girl.
The new daughter is the couple’s second child, part of a family that has grown together in Indianapolis.

When Sanchez signed a three-year, $7.5 million extension this spring, the punter cited the fact that he’s spent his entire career with the Colts and in the community as one of the deciding factors.

“My little one, she goes to school, and she’s established,” Sanchez said in March. “Then my wife, she has a whole agenda here. It’s just amazing to be back home, it’s the best feeling in the world.”
Sanchez’s absence left an opening for former Notre Dame kicker Spencer Shrader to show there’s a little more to his game than kicking.
Shrader’s first punt traveled a remarkable 63 yards.
