Here's where Clemson football, Dabo Swinney are ranked in preseason AP top 25 poll

CLEMSON — Clemson football landed at No. 14 in the preseason AP top 25 poll released on Monday.

The Tigers received 689 points but no first-place votes. They were the No. 2-ranked ACC team, finishing behind Florida State, which placed at No. 10 with 971 points. FSU was picked to win the conference in the ACC preseason media poll and was the highest-ranked conference school in the US LBM preseason coaches poll.

Two other ACC schools made the Top 25: Miami (492) at No. 19 and NC State (171) at No. 24.

ACC teams that did not make the preseason Top 25 but received votes were Louisville (111 points), Virginia Tech (77) and SMU (33).

Clemson's preseason ranking is a five-spot drop after it ranked No. 9 preseason in 2023, when it finished with a 9-4 record for its fewest wins since 2010. The Tigers ranked No. 20 in the final AP poll of the 2023 season.

Georgia is the No. 1 team in the poll, earning 1,532 points and 46 first-place votes. Clemson faces the Bulldogs on Aug. 31 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to open its season.

Ohio State was No. 2 with 1,490 points and 15 first-place votes, while No. 3 Oregon earned one first-place vote.
