Clemson football vs Florida State score prediction, scouting report in Week 6 ACC game

CLEMSON — Clemson football is looking to win its fourth straight game this weekend.

The No. 14 Tigers (2-1, 1-0 ACC) face Florida State (1-4, 1-3) on Saturday (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Doak Campbell Stadium. This was one of the most anticipated games this season, but the Seminoles have struggled, and quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, a Clemson transfer, is out with a hand injury.

Here is what to know about the matchup:

Clemson football's Cade Klubnik looks to stay hot on the road

Klubnik aims to keep his momentum going in the Tigers' first road game. In the past three games, Clemson has scored the most points in the country with 55. He has led the team there, throwing for 842 yards with 16 total touchdowns (four rushing) and one interception.

Klubnik put together this stretch without playing a snap in the fourth quarter. He is in a groove that Clemson coaches and fans craved last season but failed to show up. In his second full season as a starter, he has showcased his maturity with help from an improved offensive line and wide receiver unit.

What to know about Florida State, quarterback Brock Glenn

FSU lost its opening three games: 24-21 to Georgia Tech; 28-13 to Boston College; and 20-12 to Memphis. It defeated Cal 14-9 for its first win of the season, then lost 42-16 to SMU on the road.

The Seminoles will start second-year quarterback Brock Glenn over Uiagalelei. This will be Glenn's third career start after playing in last year's ACC championship and Orange Bowl. In his career, he has thrown zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He will command an FSU offense that averages the fewest points in the conference (15.2).

Defensively, FSU gives up 24.6 points per game, eighth-most in the ACC. Still, it is tied for the second-most sacks in the conference with 12.

Dabo Swinney going for ACC record for career wins

If the Tigers defeat FSU, Dabo Swinney will have the most career coaching victories leading an ACC program in conference history with 174. He is tied with Bobby Bowden, who led FSU to 173 wins and was a mentor to Swinney.

"I have a picture in my office of when I had one win — one. It's a picture of me and Bobby Bowden," Swinney said last week. " . . . He was one of the first people to call me that night as an interim. He became a mentor of mine, a friend of mine."

Clemson's history vs Florida State

Florida State is 21-15 all-time against Clemson. These teams first met in Tallahassee in 1970, where the Seminoles won 38-13. FSU defeated the Tigers 31-24 in overtime in their matchup last year at Memorial Stadium.

The Tigers are 22-10 all-time in rematches of a loss under Swinney. Clemson is also 7-2 in its past nine games against FSU.

Clemson score prediction vs Florida State

Clemson 42, Florida State 17: The Seminoles have been arguably the most disappointing team in college football. Expect those woes to continue without Uiagalelei as the Tigers dominate FSU on both sides of the ball to win their fourth straight.
