The Miami Dolphins play their second preseason game tonight against the Washington Commanders. Will Tua Tagovailoa see any time?

The franchise quarterback, weeks removed from signing a contract extension to make him one of the highest-paid players in the NFL, sat out the Dolphins' preseason opener last week against the Atlanta Falcons. So did all of the other Dolphins' stars, from Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane to Jalen Ramsey and Jevon Holland. Coach Mike McDaniel said the planned starters would appear in tonight's game.

Dolphins fans wouldn't mind a new face at quarterback after seeing the backup battle between Mike White and Skylar Thompson. The two went a combined 12 for 33 for 121 yards. Thompson played the first half and threw a touchdown and an interception. The bright spot on offense was rookie running back Jaylen Wright, who ran for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Chop Robinson, the Dolphins' first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was held out of last week's game with an injury. Will he finally make his NFL debut? Another Dolphins pass rusher will be eligible: Jaelan Phillips was back at practice after tearing his Achilles on November 24.
