Andy Reid provides positive update on Hollywood Brown; Week 1 status unknown
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs were back at training camp on Monday after their first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The story of the game was Hollywood Brown, who suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation on the first play from scrimmage after catching an 11-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes.

He stayed overnight in Jacksonville at a local hospital for treatment from the injury.
Reid said Brown could miss some time but did have some good news when he gave an update on his status on Monday.
“They were able to get the joint back into place without surgery,” Reid said. “We’ll just see on the recovery. He’s back in Kansas City now. He stayed over in Jacksonville until they got that thing situated.
“The positive there is he’s gonna be back,” Reid said. “But we’ve also got other guys that can step in and play. We’ll be okay there, it’s just we’re pulling for him to get back, obviously.
The Chiefs open their season on Sep. 5 against the Baltimore Ravens and Brown’s status for that game is uncertain but it doesn’t seem he’ll miss significant time. It’s not out the realm out of possibility that Brown could be on the field for the opener.
“We’ll see how that goes,” Reid said regarding Brown’s status for Week 1.

If Brown sits Week 1, he will get an extra 10 days off before the Chiefs next matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sep. 15.
The Chiefs dealt with a similar situation last season will Kelce was dealing with a knee injury going into Week 1 against Detroit Lions.
Kelce was sidelined for that game and made his debut in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
