Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown leaves first preseason game early
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown left the team’s first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with an injury.
Brown was sidelined in the first quarter in Jacksonville with a shoulder injury. The starting offense only played the first drive of the game which ended in a field goal.

Brown caught an 11-yard pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and appeared to go down on his left shoulder before immediately going to the sideline to be evaluated by medical personnel.
It was the only play of the day for Brown.
According to head coach Andy Reid, Brown was hospitalized and suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation, which he compared to former wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s injury from 2019 against the Jaguars.
In 2019, head trainer Rick Burkholder described the injury as “A sternoclavicular joint injury where your clavicle comes into your sternum.”
Hill missed four games in 2019 so Brown will likely miss the rest of the preseason and could make his status unclear for the September 5 season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
Brown has had an impressive training camp so far as the offense has unleashed an aerial assault of the deep passing game throughout offseason practice and camp.
Several starters from last year like defensive tackles Chris Jones and Derrick Nnadi, safety Justin Reid, and cornerback Jaylen Watson did not suit up for the game.
