Alabama football names player representatives for SEC Media Days

Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer has selected quarterback Jalen Milroe, offensive lineman Tyler Booker and defensive back Malachi Moore to represent the Crimson Tide next week at SEC Media Days in Dallas. The players representing each team in the SEC were announced by the league Monday.

Players are typically chosen based not only on their on-field accomplishments but on their ability to represent the program with hundreds of media members on hand.

Milroe led the Crimson Tide to an SEC Championship, and a College Football Playoff appearance last year, overcoming a slow start to the season to win key games against Tennessee, LSU and a last-minute thriller at Auburn to clinch UA's postseason opportunity. Alabama went on to beat Georgia in the SEC title game. Booker was one of Alabama's best-performing offensive linemen from a guard position, and is considered a leader in the UA locker room. Moore has experience at the safety and nickelback positions and played effectively last year in a talented UA secondary. The trio were among the first established veterans to announce in January that they would not transfer in the wake of legendary coach Nick Saban's retirement.

DeBoer, Milroe, Booker and Moore will speak to reporters Wednesday, along with coaches and players from Florida, Mississippi State and Texas. Last year, Alabama was represented by offensive tackle JC Latham, cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry and linebacker Dallas Turner, all of whom were selected among the first 50 picks in the 2024 NFL draft.

The Crimson Tide will open the season Aug. 31 at Bryant-Denny Stadium against Western Kentucky.
