Week 9 of the 2024 college football season has concluded for Southeastern Conference teams. Four SEC teams had an open date in Week 9: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Week 9 featured three top 25 games in the SEC. Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.

No. 6 Texas defeated No. 25 Vanderbilt, 27-24, at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

No. 15 Alabama hosted No. 17 Missouri at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Crimson Tide were victorious, 34-0.

SEC play concluded with No. 7 LSU playing at No. 14 Texas A&M. The Aggies remain undefeated in SEC play after defeating LSU, 38-23, at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.

16. Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-7, 0-5 SEC)

Mississippi State has lost seven straight games since winning its season opener versus Eastern Kentucky. First-year head coach Jeff Lebby will look for a second win of the season versus UMass in Week 10.

The Wildcats suffered their third consecutive loss in Week 9. Kentucky has lost three straight games to Vanderbilt, Florida and Auburn before playing at Tennessee in Week 10. Mark Stoops is 0-3 versus the Vols with Josh Heupel as Tennessee's head coach.

14. Auburn Tigers (3-5, 1-4 SEC)

Auburn and head coach Hugh Freeze recorded their first SEC win of the season in Week 9. The Tigers were victorious at Kentucky, 24-10. Auburn will need to go 3-1 in its final four regular-season games to become bowl eligible.

Florida has won both of its games before an open date in 2024. The Gators defeated Mississippi State, 45-28, before being off on Sept. 28. Florida was also victorious, 48-20, versus Kentucky before being off in Week 9. Florida will next play Georgia on Nov. 2 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Gamecocks had their second and final open date of the season in Week 9. South Carolina lost to Ole Miss and Alabama, while defeating Oklahoma between its first and last off week of the season from Sept. 28-Oct. 26. South Carolina will return to action in Week 10 versus Texas A&M.

5. Alabama Crimson Tide (6-2, 3-2 SEC)

Alabama recorded its second shutout win of the season on Saturday. The Crimson Tide held Missouri to 239 total yards and returned to the win column after losing at Tennessee in Week 8. The Crimson Tide are off in Week 10 before traveling to LSU.

4. Tennessee Volunteers (6-1, 3-1 SEC)

The Vols had their final open date during the 2024 regular-season after defeating Florida and Alabama in consecutive games. Tennessee will next play Kentucky at Neyland Stadium in Week 10 of the college football season. Running back Dylan Sampson has totaled 17 rushing touchdowns through seven games for the Vols.
