2025 Lotus Emira Turbo SE Packs a 400-HP Four-PotLotus
  • The Lotus Emira adds a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the 2025 model year.

  • The Emira Turbo SE boosts the standard four-cylinder's output from 360 to 400 horsepower, matching the V-6 option.

  • Lotus says the Turbo SE is only available in select markets, namely Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East.

The Lotus Emira is the final model from the famed British marque to feature a gas engine. Here in the United States, the Emira is offered with two powertrains. There's an AMG-sourced turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 360 horsepower and a Toyota-sourced V-6 that dials power up to 400 ponies. Lotus is now adding a third engine option for select markets in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East.

The new engine powers the Emira Turbo SE model, and it boosts the current four-pot's horsepower figure from 360 up to 400—matching the V-6. The torque figure also increases from 317 to 354 pound-feet. As with the standard turbocharged Emira, the Turbo SE sends power exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. If you want the third pedal, you'll need to order the V-6.

Lotus says the larger power figures result in an improved zero-to-60-mph time of 4.0 seconds compared with the base setup's 4.3-second estimate. Top speed climbs by 11 mph and now peaks at 180 mph. The new trim also comes with the Lotus Drivers pack as standard, adding a stiffer suspension, upgraded two-piece brakes, and launch control.

Visually, the Turbo SE distinguishes itself from the base model with a standard set of V-spoke forged Satin Grey wheels, red brake calipers, and specific Emira Turbo SE badging. Lotus hasn't confirmed any plans to bring the Turbo SE to North America, but the company hasn't said it won't come to our shores either.
