Jeep Teases the Next-Generation CompassJeep
  • Jeep is rolling out its next-generation Compass in 2025 in Europe but is scheduled to bring it to the United States in 2026.

  • The upcoming Jeep Compass will ride on the STLA Medium platform and will be built in Melfi, Italy.

  • The upcoming STLA Medium-based Compass will be the model’s third generation.

With the Jeep Renegade out of the picture, Jeep’s most affordable machine is the Compass. Riding on its second-generation platform that launched in 2016, the entry point to the Jeep brand is getting a little long in the tooth. Well, Jeep is gearing up to launch its successor next year for Europe, with a trip to North America in 2026.

The upcoming Jeep Compass will ride on the parent company’s midsize platform. Dubbed STLA Medium, this architecture can support internal combustion, hybrid, and battery-electric propulsion. Jeep hasn’t mentioned what combination of powertrains will be available in the upcoming Compass but did outline that there will be “various multi-energy propulsion systems.”

Judging by the teaser image above, the Compass will lean into a boxier design language. We’ll get a better glimpse when it debuts in Europe next year before making its way to the United States in 2026.

Jeep says this new Compass will be built in Melfi, Italy. It’s hard to say how much this generational shift will affect the price, but we still expect the Compass to sit closer to the entry point of the Jeep lineup alongside the expected Jeep Renegade's revival. A small bump in price is almost guaranteed, but we expect it to still start under $30,000.
