After discovering a particularly nasty spot, we’ve all been advised to smear toothpaste onto it in an attempt to make it smaller.

The latest trend, however, is all about using toothpaste to make something bigger.

On YouTube, a number of vloggers are recommending women rub a toothpaste-based mixture onto their breasts in order to enlarge or tighten them.

And the strangest thing is that these videos have millions of views.

Beauty vlogger Naturalbeauty556’s video, “Tighten Sagging Breast In Just 5 Days Using Toothpaste No Jokes” currently has more than seven million views.

Another called “Apply Vaseline on breast daily, after 30 days you’ll be amazed by results”, uploaded by Beauty Pari has almost 400,000.

The videos essentially advise that you make some kind of toothpaste mixture – also using stuff like Vaseline and egg whites – and rub it into, or leave it smeared on, your body.

Just in case you’re about to whip out the Colgate, you should probably know this won’t bring your B cups up to double Fs.

Applying something to the top layer of your skin won’t transform the entire body underneath it – at best they’ll end up smelling “minty fresh”, according to one expert.

Christopher Inglefield, medical director of the London Bridge Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Clinic, told Metro.co.uk: “This bizarre advice simply preys on the many women who are unhappy with the size of their breasts and who might resort to bizarre ‘miracle fixes’ to find a solution to their problem.

“Sadly, like a lot of guidance on the internet, the Vaseline and toothpaste method of breast augmentation is fake news and pure online quackery.

“Your breasts may end up smelling minty fresh, but it’s highly unlikely there will be any growth.”

Alas.
