Woman outs sister for fake ‘hiking’ Instagram shot taken in back garden
We already know that social media posts are often not quite what they seem.
And a recent example has proved this to comic effect.
Carly Sosnowski took to social media to call her sister, Carey, out to show that her “hike” photo wasn’t all it seemed.
Carey had originally posted a shot of herself on Instagram, wearing a sports bra and leggings and holding a reusable plastic water bottle, which she captioned “Nature is the ultimate healer to all our problems”.

The location was tagged as “Lake Okahumpka Park and Trail” – a 130-acre site in Wildwood, Florida.
But it would appear there was something of a gulf between appearance and reality.
On her Twitter account, Carly shared a screenshot of her sister’s Instagram post – with her handle blocked out to protect her identity – side by side with a zoomed out image of her sister posing in their back garden wearing the same “hiking” outfit.

“My sister said she was going hiking.....this is our backyard,” she captioned it.
While Carey’s original Instagram post appears to have received just 30 likes, Carly’s tweet has gone viral – garnering 40,400 retweets at time of writing.
Thankfully, it looks like Casey has seen the funny side.

The subsequent message thread below shows a humorous exchange between the two sisters, in which Casey writes, “I feel personally attacked”, and her sister responds, “How was your hike?”.
Twitter users have also voiced their amusement at the playful sibling banter.
Yup she a clown 🤡😂

Sometimes you have to throw your sibling in the pit for some clout 😂

But it isn’t always fun and games. Earlier this year, an influencer couple faced heavy criticism for a “life-risking” infinity pool shot where it appealed a woman was dangling over a steep drop. However, they later revealed there was another pool directly beneath.
