All hail this student who finished her exams while in labour
Giving birth is tough. Ask any mum.
For most women, concentrating on anything other than the fact you’re in labour is a struggle, but one mum-to-be took the birthing process to the next level by completing her final exams from her hospital bed.
Student Nayzia Thomas, was captured diligently typing away at her laptop while also preparing to give birth in a snapshot taken by her mother.
Sharing the image to her Twitter feed, Thomas wrote: “my mom took this pic & it’s the perfect explanation of my life. yes i’m about to have a baby, but final SZN ain’t over yet.”

Thomas is currently studying psychology at Johnson County Community College in Kansas City, Mo., and, determined not to let her pregnancy disrupt her education, stayed in school until she was 39 weeks.
The plan was to finish her final exams before her baby put in an appearance, but things didn’t quite work out when the mum-to-be went into labour early.
Instead of putting off her final exam and being given an “incomplete” she decided to finish her assignment.
“It wasn’t due until the end of the week — finals week is Dec. 11 to tomorrow — but my goal was to try to have everything done before,” she told our colleagues in the US. “[I thought] ‘before all this gets crazy let me hurry up and finish this final.’”
And that’s just what she did, completing her assignment on dissociative identity disorder while sitting in a hospital bed ready to give birth.
Then she gave birth to her son, Anthony Johnson, on Dec. 12 at 1:30 pm.
Oh and she went on to score top marks in her finals too.
update: on 12/12/17 we had a healthy baby boy. However, I experienced major blood loss & my body went into shock post-delivery. It was very scary, but his father was right there to take over when I went unconscious. We are blessed! AND I’m finishing the semester w/ a 3.5 GPA! pic.twitter.com/CLFGjf3hLD

No wonder her tweet has gone viral with over 132K likes and almost 28K retweets, from people impressed with the new mum’s dedication.
“Women are amazing, you’re amazing,” one user wrote.
“This is awesome! Thank you for sharing this, your baby is lucky to have such an amazing Mom!” another added.
Other mums shared stories of their own education/birth battles.
“I had mine right before finals, I def understand!” one woman wrote alongside a picture of her breastfeeding her newborn while typing on her computer.
