Woman banishes her sister from her BBQ because she's 'too fat'
A woman has vented her frustrations on Mumsnet after her sister told she couldn’t go to her BBQ because she was “too fat”.
The woman was part of a group chat with her sister, her siblings and the rest of her family. Her sister was trying to figure out the best dates for everyone to attend a BBQ she was having.
Despite there being a lot of dates they could all do, the woman’s sister opted for the only date she couldn’t do.
When the woman questioned why her sister, who’s a personal trainer, had chosen that date, she replied saying: “She wasn’t sure I’d feel comfortable at the event as she was also inviting a lot of her clients.”

The woman quickly phoned her sister to clarify what she meant by her comment, to which her sister “started by saying everyone going was really slim and cared about their weight.”
But it didn’t end there.
“She proceeded to suggest it looked bad on her as a personal trainer if she had a ‘fat’ sister.” The woman continued.

She hung up the phone and proceeded to share her experience on Mumsnet. She asked the other users, “on a scale of 1-10, how mad should I be about this?”
Hundreds of opinions came flooding in within seconds.
One woman simply wrote: “11/10.”
Another user suggested that she should show up anyway. “Can you rearrange your thing on that date? I would show up unannounced and act up stuff sausages in your mouth and drink champagne out of the bottle that kind of thing.”
The messages of support were interspersed by people expressing their understanding of her sister’s situation.
One user wrote: “Stating a fact is not body-shaming. You don’t have to be offended by absolutely everything you know.”
