The 36-year-old wed film producer Trevor Engelson back in 2011 after dating for six years but the couple sadly divorced two years later, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
With a mere matter of days until she says ‘I do’ once more, how will the royal wedding compare to her first nuptials?

Meghan and Trevor tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on 10 September 2011 at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
With 102 guests in attendance, the wedding took place over the course of four luxurious days by the sea.

Ahead of their nuptials, the couple joined the wedding party in a series of games on the beach to kick-start the celebrations.
Just hours before the ceremony, Meghan was reportedly photographed swimming in the sea and wed Trevor with her hair still wet from the salty waves.

A royal wedding is undoubtedly world’s away from the intimate beach ceremony Meghan planned for her first nuptials.
Set to take place in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the location is steeped in royal history and if it’s anything like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 2011 nuptials, over two billion viewers from across the globe are expected to tune in on the big day.
With a 600-strong guest list (which features the likes of the Beckhams and Elton John) and 1,200 members of the public invited to the grounds of Windsor Castle, it’s sure to be a day filled with pomp and pageantry. Of course, the Queen didn’t bag an invite to Meghan’s first wedding either…

As a consequence to the palm-fringed Jamaican backdrop, Meghan opted for a laid back aesthetic courtesy of a minimal strapless white dress with a sparkly waistband.
The floor-gracing gown was undoubtedly simple with nothing but a sparkly belt for embellishment.

A far cry from her now-trademark tendrils, the former actress left her hair wavy from a morning swim in the sea and accessorised her bridal look with minimal jewellery.

In stark comparison, speculation is rife that Meghan has chosen a £100,000 gown for her second wedding day.
Rumour has it that Ralph & Russo is behind the bridal design though Erdem also remains a strong contender in the wedding dress stakes.
It is likely that the former actress will also don a tiara on the big day, as it is customary for ‘commoners’ marrying into the royal family to wear their debut accessory for their nuptials.
The jury is out on which tiara the duchess-to-be will choose with the likes of Princess Diana’s Spencer Tiara or a custom-made number in the running.

The newlyweds celebrated the big day with a beach reception where Meghan was photographed dancing the night away barefoot with her bridesmaids in tow.
To toast the happy couple, guests clinked glasses brimming with rum punch as the weekend shaped up to be a pretty boozy affair.
The newlyweds later performed the traditional Jewish Horah dance before kick-starting three further days of partying with their guests.
The couple even played gamed of ‘wheelbarrow’ on the beach with one candid snap depicting Meghan playfully joining in wearing a yellow bikini.

In stark comparison, Prince Charles is hosting the soon-to-be newlyweds’s reception at Frogmore House.
The couple have invited 200 close friends and family members to celebrate the big day and it has been widely speculated that Meghan has chosen a second wedding dress for the occasion. Watch this space.
