Viola Davis trades heels for trainers at Emmys 2019

When she’s not trying to get away with murder, Viola Davis is slaying the fashion game on the red carpet.

The 54-year-old Oscar-winning actress attended the 67th Emmy Awards wearing a stunning Alberta Ferretti black and white grecian gown and strappy sky-high heels, which she styled with a diamond necklace. She wore her hair in a giant afro.

But when Davis walked on stage during the show to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, fans couldn’t help but notice that she had changed her footwear.

Cameras caught Viola wearing a pair of metallic platform trainers underneath her glamorous dress, with many pointing it out on Twitter.

One wrote: “Viola Davis walking out in chunky silver sneakers and “you’re lucky I’m even here” energy is the inspiration I needed to keep going #Emmys”.
