Victoria Beckham’s birthday message to daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham has been analysed by social media users after rumours swirled of a feud between the two last year.
Marking Nicola’s 28th birthday, Victoria posted an image of the pair to Instagram, writing: “Happy Birthday @NicolaAnnePeltzBeckham. Hope you have a lovely day!!! X.”
Husband David also celebrated his daughter-in-law’s birthday on the social media platform, writing on his Instagram Stories: “Happy birthday. Have a lovely day @NicolaAnnePeltzBeckham.”

Victoria's post was quickly criticised by her followers, with some calling the 48-year-old fashion designer's words “dry” and said she “could have picked a better image”.
“The driest birthday message there ever was,” user @anonghost19 wrote, to which @mihkey replied: “Do you expect her to write an essay?”
Others argued that Victoria posting a message to her Instagram page rather than her Story was an honour she “doesn’t always give even her fellow Spice Girls” so the designer had “outdone” herself.
Some users noted that the post didn’t end with Victoria’s trademark sign off “Kisses VB”, but one user, @arden_prl, said: “Stop your judging, people. It is a cute photo and that’s it. VB doesn’t have to end [with] ‘Kisses VB’ or ‘We love you so much’. This photo was taken during a girls chat it looks. I like it.”

Nicola also commented on Victoria’s post, writing “Thank you so much!” alongside three pink sparkly heart emoji.
Why are Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham thought not to get on?
Reports of a feud between Victoria and Nicola began when David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham married Nicola in a lavish ceremony in April last year.
At the time, sources claimed that the pair had fallen out over the wedding dress Nicola decided to wear, as the now 28-year-old opted for a Valentino wedding dress over her mother-in-law’s namesake fashion brand.

Page Six even described the rumoured feud as a "cold war" with a source telling the publication in August last year: "They can’t stand each other and don’t talk. The build-up to the wedding was horrendous."
Sources added that Victoria was reportedly "not happy" that Tatler labelled Nicola as "The new Mrs Beckham" on its cover story in June last year, and the Daily Mail noted that the pair didn't "like" any of each other's Instagram photos for several months.
However, these rumours were quashed when Nicola told Variety: “I was going to [wear a Victoria Beckham design] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she [Victoria] realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.”
“Everyone gets along,” Nicola added. “Which is good.”
