17 vegan skincare brands that should be on your shopping list
Vegan skincare has had a serious boom in recent years. Chances are, you’re probs using a handful of vegan products within your routine already (without even realising it). However, when it comes to finding skincare brands that are 100% vegan, they are still few and far between. Even brands that make claims of being clean, organic and cruelty-free, use animal by-products such as beeswax or lanolin. For a range to be completely vegan these ingredients need to be changed to include effective swaps, like fruit waxes and nut butters and oils.
One of our favourite vegan skincare brands? Bybi. The Insta-worthy range brings an injection of colour with their fun packaging, which is created from sugarcane, a by-product of the sugar industry. Their price point is easy on the purse, too, with the least expensive product being just £5.50.
The same can be said about The Glowcery, the Black-owned brand that was born from the brand founder’s vegan lifestyle. The range harnesses the power of nutrients in fresh produce with the packaging reflecting the bright hues of a fruit and veg stall.

1. Biossance
A brand that is so loved by our beauty team, it has won multiple Cosmo Beauty Awards since its launch in January 2020. Combining scientific research with vegan ingredients, Biossance is really great skincare that just so happens to be vegan. Our favourites are the squalane range, with a special nod to the Squalane & Probiotic Gel Moisturiser, £42.
2. Summer Fridays
Renowned for their cult Jet Lag mask, Summer Fridays is the über chic skincare brand that everyone wants on their dressing tables. Don't write them off as just pretty packaging though. Their Super Amino Gel Cleanser, £38, is a great hydrator for skin and their Lip Butter Balm, £23, is truly one of the best we've tried.
3. Skin Proud
Affordable trend-led skincare that delivers real results. Skin Proud wants to encourage you to embrace your skin and their range of products with active ingredients, like vitamin C and retinol, will make you want to ditch your base for good.
4. Pai
If you're a newbie to vegan skincare, Pai is a great place to start. They have an extensive line of products, so it's easy to find everything you could need in one place. Plus, the brand's totally transparent when it comes to what's in their formulas, so every single ingredient in each of the products is clearly listed on the website.
5. Kylie Skin
Kylie Jenner's beauty lines are the gift that keeps on giving. Not only has her makeup range delivered us some of our all-time fave eyeshadow palettes and lip colours, but her skincare range has fast become one of our most-used celebrity beauty collections. Luckily for us, the skincare line is 100% vegan. Our faves include the face moisturiser, £28, and vitamin C face serum, £30.
6. Odacité
If you've never heard of Odacité before, you need to listen up, because not only are its products 100% vegan, but its 'serum concentrates' are total game-changers for anyone with problem skin. The mini bottles each contain a seriously potent blend of plant extracts and oils that are targeted to specific concerns, whether that's clogged pores, hyperpigmentation or dehydration. You only need a drop or two into your skincare routine and its formulas help tackle any issues, ASAP.
7. Skyn Iceland
While a lot of vegan beauty brands can be tricky to get hold of, Skyn Iceland can be found at most retailers, which is très convenient. The product range is pretty vast, but one of our fave products is the mega refreshing Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, £12. If you're feeling hungover and need a quick wake-up call, these patches will work a treat and blitz any bags or dark circles.
8. BYBI Beauty
100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free, BYBI Beauty is a capsule skincare collection that's as practical as it is pretty. The Instagrammable aesthetics and high-quality ingredients make the products a must-try for vegans.
9. Neighbourhood Botanicals
If you fancy something a little cooler (but still 100% vegan, obvs) Neighbourhood Botanical Face Oils are the perfect choice. The brand's impeccable formulas are packed with the highest quality essential oils, plus the glass bottles and illustrated packaging are dreamy. The indie brand has just five oils in the lineup, a cleansing formula and four face oils designed to target individual skincare concerns.
10. Evolve Beauty
If you're into natural beauty products, Evolve is well worth checking out. Not only are their formulas super-effective, but they're also all-natural and free from synthetic chemicals (yesssss). Ranging from around £16 to £30, the mid-range price point makes Evolve an accessible brand for vegans.
11. The Glowcery
The Glowcery does a pretty great job at putting the fun in veggies. The brand only launched in March 2020 and has already built a huge following for its fun and effective formulas. A favourite of ours is the Coconut Crumble Superfood Natural Lip Scrub, £12, which tastes so good you have to try not to eat it.
12. NARLOA
Can you be obsessed with a bath soak? Because ever since we sprinkled the first few crystals of the Narloa Pink Detox Bath Soak, £14, into our bath, our cold winter nights haven’t been the same. The range, which is made in small batches in London, spans body and skin care – the rose water toner is also a fave; it’s super calming and has a lovely mist.
13. Starface
You have definitely seen this Insta-famous brand all over your feed. Their Hydroface spot stickers, £8.95, which was the brand's initial product launch, are great for reducing the lifespan of a spot and a firm fave in the Cosmo beauty team. Since launching, the brand has released a fully-fledged vegan skincare routine that's as fun-looking as it is effective.
14. Monday Muse
If you're looking for a nourishing facial oil that is vegan and will not break you out, then your wishes have been answered with The Nectar, £48, by Monday Muse. It's the new brand's initial product launch which comprises a mix of cold-pressed oils (including prickly pear seed and black cumin seed oil) to soothe and calm even the most temperamental skin.
15. Byoma
Despite only launching earlier this year, Byoma is already building a cult following. The all-vegan brand has a stellar line-up of products, all created to help boost, strengthen and repair your skin's barrier function. Our favourites? The Creamy Jelly Cleanser, £10.99, and Moisturising Gel Cream, £12.99. Plus, the fun coloured bottles – which are made from recycled and recyclable materials – make the perfect addition to your bathroom cabinet.
16. Milk Makeup
Yep, uber cool New York beauty brand Milk Makeup is 100% vegan. Alongside its bestselling makeup products, the brand has a large selection of skincare products, including its popular Vegan Milk Moisturiser, £35. Apply to dry skin and oat milk will help calm, while argan milk seals in moisture. It's a hug in a tub.
17. Versed
Alongside a fully vegan line-up of products, Versed is all about ingredients. Every one of its products revolves around a results-driven hero ingredient, from retinol and hyaluronic acid to vitamin C and glycolic acid. We recommend the Moisturizing Gel-Cream, £13.50, a refreshing moisturiser that feels like a cool drink for skin. Or, if you're a retinol newbie, give its Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum, £20, a try.
