Victoria's Secret fans upset the fashion show TV repeat included model Ming Xi's fall

If you’re a Victoria’s Secret fan, you probably already knew about model Ming Xi’s unfortunate fall at the lingerie label’s Shanghai show last week.
Although the high-profile event took place on 20 November, the show only aired in the US last night.
And diehard fans were dismayed to find that VS had kept in footage of the 28-year-old Chinese model taking a tumble.

Not only did the world get to see Ming trip, they also witnessed her crying as she walked backstage.
Viewers were unhappy that Victoria’s Secret hadn’t edited the show for TV – especially when the brand removed footage of Ariana Grande being hit in the head by model Elsa Hosk’s furry wing in 2014.

Twitter was fit to burst with negative comments aimed at the VS organisation, with many people stating that there’s no need to show a woman visibly upset.

“Don’t show her crying. What did Ming Xi ever do to you Victoria’s Secret?” tweeted one person while another said it was “slightly cruel of VS to not cut Ming Xi’s fall out of the broadcast.”

One Twitter user believed the whole thing had been staged, tweeting: “The model who had just told us it was her hometown and her family was all there fell 20 secs later? What a coincidence! If it wasn’t planned, it would have been edited out. Shame on you @CBS for using that poor girl to trend longer.”

Is it really a bad thing that VS included the stumble? After all, it proves that models aren’t perfect and are capable of mistakes just like anyone else. The footage was also a show of female solidarity as fellow model Gizele Oliveira stopped to help pick Ming up.
