Former TOWIE star Lauren Pope shares baby birth announcement with name reveal and first photos
Lauren Pope has given birth to her first child, a baby girl called Raine Anais Keterman.
The new mum shared her happy news on Instagram today sharing two photos and revealing that the child was born three days ago, on 11 July 2020.
In the first photo, Pope holds up a polaroid photo showing her holding her daughter alongside boyfriend Tony Keterman. Baby Raine can be seen in the background of the image.
The second photo shows Raine holding onto an adult’s index finger - likely her mum’s.
In the accompanying caption, Pope describes her daughter as “perfect”.
Pope has kept her fans up-to-date with her pregnancy over the past few months, documenting her experience in a video series with Yahoo UK.
The Baby Bump with Lauren Pope series, created to compliment Pope’s Mum Space Facebook gorup, explores pregnancy during a pandemic and lockdown, seeking the answers to commonly asked questions from health and parenting experts.
Topics covered have included safe baby sleep, the pressure on women to bounce back after birth, life with a newborn and baby first aid.
Commenting on Raine’s birth, Pope tells Yahoo UK: “I still can’t believe she’s actually here, after such a long time waiting patiently to meet her it’s just the craziest overwhelming feeling of love when I look at her.
“I’ve pretty much spent most of my time just staring at her, even at night time when I should be trying to sleep I can’t help but peek into her Moses basket.”
Pope adds that her labour was “pretty tough” and “very exhausting” but said that in comparison to others she possibly had it easier because Raine arrived 12 hours after she was induced.
“I’m home and taking it easy now and enjoying every second with her - everyone tells me these first few months just fly by.
“Also wanted to say a big thank you to all our Mum Space ladies that really helped me get through the pregnancy, not being able to go to any groups or classes felt a bit isolating at first but then having this amazing community of mums and mums to be has been such a blessing and now I hope they all can help me with my next journey... being a mummy!!”
A number of celebrities have congratulated Pope in the comments section of the Instagram post, including Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne from Little Mix and former The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) co-star Gemma Collins.
The child’s gender wasn’t a surprise to Pope or her 1.2m followers: Earlier this month, she revealed she was expecting a girl in an Instagram post alongside her dog, Cookie.
“Me n [sic] my girls,” she captioned the photo.
The 37-year-old former reality star rose to fame while starring in TOWIE, which she left in March 2019 after nine years on the show.
She’s since been working on her Hair Rehab London brand, among other projects.
Pope announced she was expecting her first child with Keterman in March. At the time, the couple had been dating for just over a year.
