This iconic hotel is offering a Princess Diana-themed stay for £24,188 (two nights only)
An iconic American hotel is offering a ‘Princess Diana package’ inspired by the late royal’s stay there.
The Drake Hotel in Chicago has launched the deal in parallel to the new season of Netflix’s The Crown, where a young Diana Spencer is introduced into the fold.
The package includes a two-night stay in the same suite Diana slept in almost 25 years ago - and will cost a cool $32,000 (£24,188).

General manager Damien McArdle said in a statement: “We felt it was a timely alignment to bring forth our unique history with the royal family and Princess Diana’s stay with us during her visit to Chicago in 1996.”
Dubbed the ‘Crowning Lady’ package, it will also include: a stationary bicycle and mineral water; fresh forget-me-nots Diana’s favourite flowers, placed throughout the suite; an ABBA album, nod to Diana’s favourite band; an official photo book and the princess’s favourite perfume, Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant Paris.
Several dining activities will also be included in the stay, from an afternoon tea serving Rose Pouchong tea (which, you guessed it, is Diana’s favourite), followed by a three-course dinner of the same meal that the princess was served (walnut and heart of palm salad, king salmon with gnocchi and cinnamon biscotti souffle glace) along with her cocktail of choice, a peach bellini.

Diana stayed in The Drake’s presidential suite during June 1996, while she was in Chicago to raise money for cancer research at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The package is available from now until December 15.
Meanwhile, in New York, one of Meghan Markle’s favourite hotels has introduced a holiday offer in the suite Meghan booked out for her baby shower.
‘The Penthouse Holiday Spectacular’ experience at The Mark includes a stay in the aforementioned penthouse, as well as a meal by a Michelin-starred chef and a private performance of The Nutcracker.
But, you’d need to be ready to fork out a small fortune for this - $175,000 (£132,334) to be exact. Ouch.
