Alexa Chung favourite Shrimps didn't disappoint with gardening, glitter lips and luminous faux fur
Hannah Weiland, the designer behind coveted faux fur label Shrimps, has escalated way beyond the fluffy coats she has become so known for.
Today’s collection saw a garden theme take root. Replete with patent yellow hats perfect for the dreary wet weather outside, the Shrimps SS18 presentation saw guests met with pink gin cocktails and an artistic set created by painter Faye Wei Wei.
In fact, the entire collection was inspired by the artist’s towering works that incorporated everything from sea urchins to snakes and moons.
Along with her usual furry coats (this time in luminous green and brushstroked white), Weiland delved into nighttime territory, designing a stand-out glittery look that even took the sparkly stuff to the lips.
Models appeared as if they had just walked in from the rain with slight curls in their hair and extremely dewy skin.
The colour scheme ranged from the aforementioned lime green to bright pinks and reds inspired by the designer’s recent romantic trip to Venice.
Several white pieces also made an appearance, drawn on with images of animals, feathers and more shells.
And who can forget the shoes? More Shrimps fluff came when you looked down with some of Weiland’s women donning furry loafers of all colours while others stuck to much simpler white trainers.
