Pregnant actress trolled for not having a husband

Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell shocked the world by pulling an almost-Kylie Jenner and keeping her pregnancy a secret.

Last week the actress announced she was expecting via a Youtube video, breaking months of silence on the topic.

The biggest twist was that Shay, who is a prolific Youtuber and actress, revealed she is just weeks shy of her due date.

The actress posted several bikini shots with her cute bump on show, following the announcement.

Although the overwhelming response may have started positive, as per usual the trolls began to emerge from under their bridges.

Trolled over partner

More than one ‘fan’ has sent a barrage of comments in Shay’s direction, demanding she reveal more details around the pregnancy.

“How?? Is she married?” one user commented on a bikini shot.

“Not married, can you believe it still happened?!!” was the actress’s tongue-in-cheek response.

The comments didn’t let up however.

“Who is the dad??” another fan asked.

“Why does this seem so weird?” another queried.

Others decided to go for a light-hearted joke, drawing parallels between Shay’s huge secret and the Pretty Little Liars franchise that kicked off her career.

“Obviously she knows how to keep a secret she was on pretty little liars dah,” one fan wrote.

Another quoted the series saying, “cause two can keep a secret if one of them is PREG!”.

The quote refers to the series’ classic intro line, “Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead”.

Gender reveal drama

To add insult to injury, Shay posted an action-packed gender reveal video to YouTube but it received a lukewarm reception for a different reason.

In the video, her boyfriend doesn’t seem too excited when – after a blue and pink Power Ranger fight – it’s revealed they’re expecting a girl.

“Are you sure?” he said, “It’s 100% accurate right?”

“Yikes. This was kinda uncomfortable to watch lmao but congrats!!” the top comment under the video said.

Meanwhile others wrote, ”Daaaamn he didn’t want a girl, I feel bad when she looks at this she’s gonna be disappointed” and “Her boyfriend seemed rude and looks very unhappy. So painful to watch. Mate, you’re having a child at least pretend to be happy on camera!”
